Anti-Americanism Why?

I can see why Europeans hate the US, but why are so many Canadians wrathful? Arnold Beichman has an interesting take on why the Western Europeans hate the US, but why is there so much hatred from the Canadians? I can't understand all the hate filled language. What has the US done to earn such loathing? Maybe someone can share that knowledge with me. As a Canadian I have fun teasing my American friends, but I don’t hate Bill Clinton or other lefties. I disagree with their philosophy, but I would never call them stupid or idiots. I guess it comes down to respect, some have it and others don’t.
