Canuck: US slang for Canadians in general and French Canadians in particular, often offensive slang

I have yet to meet someone that thinks the term 'Canuck' is offensive. I'm sure there're some who take offence, but I have yet to know them. To the people in the West, the word 'Canuck' is a term of respect. In our most beloved sport, Hockey, our team is 'The Vancouver Canucks'. To us there're just 'The Canucks'.
